Trinity Choir & Praise Band
Trinity Choir
Here at Trinity, we have had a faithful choir for many years. Choir meets every Thursday night from 8:00pm until 9:15pm where we sing through some of the pieces for Sunday services as well as learning a set of new pieces for each festival season throughout the year from Harvest through to Easter.
At the end of each choir practice we have a short time of prayer together where anyone can pray aloud or quietly to themselves in their seat before we head home again.
We are always on the lookout for new members and would love to see some new faces! Our choir has a wide range of musical abilities ranging from experienced sight-readers all the way through to people who just love to sing and learn by ear instead so we would love to see you if you love to sing, no prior experience is required.
If you are interested in joining our choir, please use the “I Want To Find Out More” button above.
FAQs
What Level Of Commitment Is Required?
The commitment level required for choir is entirely based around what you can offer yourself. Some members of the choir are there every week and others are busy during the week and miss a few practices. This is no problem as long as you feel comfortable with the pieces we are singing. Some choir members are only able to join us for some of the festival seasons, for example Harvest, as this is a short number of weeks of rehearsal time.
Do I Have To Sit At The Front Of Church?
While our choir has seats at the front of church and we would love for you to join us in this space, it is not required at all. Some of our choir members are needed with their families within the pews on a Sunday morning and this is completely fine! We would love for you to join us even if that is only when the choir is singing at the front in one of the Festival Services.
Do I Have To Be Able To Sight Read?
No, you are not required to be able to sight read. While some of our choir members can sight read, the others learn by listening to the piece and Samuel will go through each part thoroughly at choir practice so that you can learn it by ear instead. Samuel also creates a ‘Sing-a-long’ track for each of the choir parts so that you can practice in your free time at home if you feel the need.
Trinity Praise Band
If you love to worship with an instrument then the Trinity Praise Band would love for you to be a part of our Church services. The Praise Band joins Samuel, our Musical Director, to help lead the congregation in praise on a Sunday morning, at least once a month. They also play at the key Festival services throughout the year such as Harvest, Christmas and Easter.
Samuel has a degree background in Orchestration for all kinds of instruments and so you can get sheet music made suited to the way you play your instrument at all ability levels.
We would love to hear from you if you have a passion for using your musical gifts to glorify God in this way by using the “I Want To Find Out More” button at the top of the page.
FAQs
Do I Need To Have Grades In My Instrument?
Absolutely not, as long as you are comfortable playing your instrument at the front of church. Some of our musicians are self taught and do not have any graded exams in their instruments and this is not a problem.
Do I Have To Be Able To Read Sheet Music?
Sight reading is not required. Some of our musicians play by ear and can’t sight read. If you would like to have the sheet music prior to the service you will be playing so that you can practice beforehand, please let Samuel know and he will try to accommodate this as best as he can.
Do I Have To Play Every Week?
There is no pressure to play every week that the Praise Band is leading praise. Some of our musicians will only play in the Festival services throughout the year and this is no problem. The level of commitment that is required is only the level of commitment you are free and willing to provide.
